GSG-5 22 Semi Auto MP5 Clone...
I just saw one of these at my local gunshop. They look like they would be alot of fun and cheap to shoot. Does anyone have any experience with one of these guns?

I've got no experience but they sure do look cool! Cool

There is a lot of info at rimfirecentral.com.

Lads,

Saw one of these at a local Dunhams. Felt like an MP5 and had "battle" sights. No good way to mount a scope unless there's a custom rig.

An article somewhere called it a "fun" gun, but not overly accurate - no surprise.

At a list of $550, I gotta wonder... "why"???

If I could find one used next year for $200, I'd probably jump. But... until then.

they are becoming very popular here in the UK, I have used both the short and long barrel GSG 5 there seem to shooot everything including sub sonic ammo. the long barrel GSG will shhot 1/2" groups at 50m with Lapua target ammo, infact thats it I'm going to buy 1 in the morning! Big Grin

I had a chance to shoot one in Argentina a few months back. Great fun. We were not shooting for accuracy so no comment there. Seems like there is an upsurge in .22 in "assault" style. Colt and S&W have one as well.

I read on rimfirecentral.com where H&K won a suit against them to stop making them, as apparently they look too much like H&K's. So they may be forced to leave the market.
