CZ is dropping the 452/453 models

mousegun1CZ is dropping the 452/453 models
The new 455 will phase in and replace the 452/453 . The major changes will be a new barrel mounting system using screws to retain the barrel instead of the barrel being threaded- doing away with the second locking lug on the bolt and moving away from the tangent type sight currently used- If you want a 452/453 better get one soon- they will phase out by model - supposedly the 17 HM2 will go first. I hope they are not making a mistake -I love them cz's and the older brno 22's

lalThis change seems to be a step in the wrong direction! CZ are you listening?

PeterIf the 455 is a better gun I will wait for it, unless they drop the price of the 452's! CZ is not stupid and they understand that the interest in their product is the price/performance.

mousegun1I take my own advice-Saturday I bought a 452 FS in 22lr myself. Now I'm wondering about a 453 of some sort.

My FS is my most accurate 22 from CZ and I have them all. FS

WinkMy CZ 452 is incredibly accurate out of the box. And they even make a lefty model. If you're a lefty, buy one before they stop making them.

Ol BullI have a buddy with a CZFS in 22lr for sale for $400 unfired. Good buy??? And just how accurate are they?

dampatentsYes, a good buy and yes they are ALL accurate... may need to relieve the stock a little on the left side (free float it while you're at it), tweak the trigger using the poor man's trigger job at the CZ forum on rimfirecentral.com or buy an $18 "yodave" kit... that's about it... it does have the nicest iron sites available on a production rifle, but a compact 4x or 2-7 rimfire scope looks good on them also.

mousegun1I just bought a new 452 FS- it cost me $480 and change out the door = $400 is a bargain - jump on it!! they are getting very hard to find new. my dealer had to call 7 distributors.

mousegun1I replaced the plastic parts on the 452 FS I just bought- The fore end cap and mag well are plastic -you can get a metal fore end cap from CZ USA- it is for the 527 FS but its a perfect fit

mousegun1I just couldn't stand it - ordered a 453 American -same story as the FS -My dealer had to call 8 distributors this time to find an American in stock- he found a few Varmints too. the 452/3's are starting to get hard to find- they are starting to stock the 455 now. If you need BRNO/CZ 22 parts or want to buy an older rifle---Zdenek(Denny) Jakubec-ajakubec@aol.com -He also sells on Gun Broker. I bought metal magazine wells from him to replace the new plastic ones

mousegun1Wheb I tore down the new 453 to get all that durn grease they dip it in cleaned out- I noticed the bolt was not the same as the 452 . the 452 bolt body is round with a slot milled in the botton. the 453 has the right side of the bolt body milled out flat- this is for the set trigger. It is enough that they won't interchange heres a picture
