Weaver base for Ruger Mark III Target?
I just acquired a stainless Ruger Mark III Target semiautomatic pistol with 5.5-inch bull barrel. I intend to mount an Ultradot L/T sight. The L/T mounts via Weaver scope bases ONLY. Please identify bases for the pistol that accept Weaver-type rings AND allow the adjustable sight assembly to remain on the pistol.

I have one on my Mark II slab side and one on a Pac-Lite upper. It installs just in front of the rear sight and is low enough that it doesn't interfere with the sight line. I cut mine off even with the front of the receiver and filed a new cross notch to match the Red Dot I am using. A 3/32" chainsaw file works well.

Lad,

I think you will be very pleased w/the Ultradot. I use mine for indoor target and love it. Haven't shot it outside at game - check the field of view, it may be a bit narrow, but that does not negate it as useful!!!
