Help with Planning a 10/22 build
I have a 10/22 carbine, the el cheapo model. It shoots fine, but I would like to make it a little nicer. I plan on stripping the receiver and getting it refinished, probably cerakoted. I would also like to do a trigger job. The next step is where I am kinda need some input. There are a hundred different barrels and stocks out there to choose from. Most are the .920 bull barrels which I dont really want. What (I think) I want is a medium weight sporter about 20". I would also like a laminated stock, but really don't want a thumbhole. I could probably find this stock, but most stocks I have seen are made for the .920 barrels or standard barrels. Does any one know of a good combination of barrel and stock that fits this description? What I am looking for is a nice, well balanced rifle for small game hunting and plinking.

Try the Volquartsen carbon fiber barrel. Quite light, very accurate and fits the .920 stocks.

For stocks, take you pick, mild to wild. I like the boyd for competition and the Hogue for my squirrel rifle.

Kidd triggers are the best by far

My experience is the carbon fiber barrels are not accurate and hard to shoot. Light barrels just stir the air. Kidd triggers are the best.
