Winchester 9422
I just received a absolutly flawless 9422. It has checkering on it so it's not one of the early ones. Number F720xxx not sure what year that makes it made in. Do these have hand cut checkering?
I was going to put a sling on it has no attachments for that.
I will be shooting this one open sights just think it would be a real fun plinker that way.
Why do they put little hoods on the front sight?

Uncle mikes makes a clamp sling swivel for the ammo tube- then you need to add the rear swivel-

Several reasons given for the front sight hood- I put them on my rifles to protect the front sight from getting bent or pushed out of alignment.
