KimR22lr Action for custom
Save yourself a lot of grief and find a Steyr Zephyr.Ideally a Mannlicher with DST.I have a rifle, single trigger& it's almost as accurate as any of my 52C sporters for 1/5 the price.Start looking now though.

AtkinsonIve built a couple of custom rifles on the old brno 22s and they shot well and turned out beautiful..but the finest custom 22 rifle I ever built was on a Win. mod. 63 auto..Its lines follow those of a win. mod. 94 more or less and scaled down considerable..I built it for myself but got an offer I couldn't turn down..It had quarter rib extending to the rear of the action, barrel band front sight and swivel. the quarter rib took a Talley peep or a 2.5X Leupold Alaskan scope..The wood was a very very dark piece of Russian walnut with lots of black marble cake grain..straight grip, steel cresent butt with a latch and door that you loaded thru so it loaded in the butt to eliminate the stock hole in the side. The magazine tube was extended to the butt at a LOP of 13-1/2"s. shot 1/2 inch at 75 yards..I shot half a dozen rock chucks and a coyote and then got offered so much I simply had to sell it..I have another in my cabinet if I ever get around to it...

DMCI*You may recall that several years ago Browning did a recreation of a 52 sporter that was indeed a very pretty little 22 rifle. I found a six power Unertal to put on it. It is a standard Unertal without the front objective bell.

butchlambertDon't give them away.

dave wesbrookI won't Butch.
One is a completely worked bbl action by Steve Heilmann. The other is a rather minty military.

mightymouseAny updates? The Big Show is coming up in Tulsa very soon, and I'll be looking for something special in the rimfire category.
A Remington 5-teen would be nice with a better trigger, I'm a little surprised that no one has designed one.

mightymouseDave, thanks for the offer on the Springfield. I'm headed to Tulsa looking for Anschutz, Cooper, or Kimber sporters.

dave wesbrookMouse,
I think that we talked about the Anschutz last show. If you don't mind my using a semi-inlet I could build and fit one to you at a reasonable price.

Dave, I bought an Anschutz 1710 at the last Wanenmacher's show, but I don't think you and I talked about it. (I don't think I've had the pleasure of meeting you.) I appreciate the offer on the Springfield, but I'm really on the hunt for another Anschutz.

Dave, thanks for the offer on the Cooper, but it is another Annie I'm really after. Besides, I want to go to the Big Show with a little money in my pocket.

Idaho SharpshooterCheck with Alan Hall about buying one of his...
18 March 2016, 08:37
mightymouseISS, I'm not sure who Alan Hall is.

butchlambertAlan makes a competition RF receiver. I would look at Jerry Stiller's customs. One of his is a 40X clone. Top notch machine work.

mightymouseThanks for the link, Butch. I'm really looking for factory sporters. Like Anschutzs or Win. 52 repros, or the like. My pockets aren't deep enough for the true custom stuff.

mightymouseI know the OP has found the action he wanted for his custom, but I just missed out on a good one. Someone on RFC was offering a 1700 series Anschutz barreled action for sale in the classifieds, but I found out a bit too late for that one.
