Left Handed Cooper rim fire rifles
I did do a search and found many favorable comments about the Cooper rifles. I am finally considering purchasing a full size high quality 22LR or 22 Mag.
The Cooper is more expensive than the Anshultz. I am looking at the left handed models. Is the Cooper worth the extra money?

Hello Snowwolfe,
I have a left hand Cooper in .221 and its a nice gun. I have handled there rim fire guns and they are just as nice. You may want to look for a used Kimber in left hand mine has been good to me. How is the Lott doing?

I have not shot the Lott yet. Scope came in (Leupold VX III 1.5 x 5 with the German post) but I havent installed it yet. I am still debating on to install iron sights on it or not.

That's a nice rifle at a really nice price. I'd like to find one just like it in the RH version.

Nice Cooper! There is a old Kimber in 222 that would look good next to it on Guns America. Now go shoot that Lott!

Snowwolfe,

My LH Cooper .17 Mach IV shoots beautifully, but so does my LH Anschutz 1416LD .22LR.

One thing that turns me off about Cooper's marketing is that they shoot those 'test groups' at 40yds. Indoors, I might add.

If your new Cooper .22WMR doesn't shoot to your standards (for a $1400 rifle), try the Savage 93GLV .17HMR. Mine consistently shoots 5-shot, 1" groups @ 100yds with a Burris 3x-9x Compact. Big Grin

George,
I picked up a Savage 93 .22mag with their AccuTrigger in 22 mag. Only had time to try one load and that was some CCI lightweight stuff and it didnt shoot it very well (2.5 moa-100 yards). But I still have other brands to try. My main interest in the Cooper was to have bascially a full size rifle to do my off hand practice with. That gorgeous stock on the one I picked up at Gunbrokers is overkill but for the price I couldnt say no. So little money..so many rifles to pick from!
Heck, my LH Rem 581 will shoot 5 shots under half an inch at 50 yards with boring regularlity.

Snowwolfe,

I had a Brno ZKM-611 (takedown) .22WMR, and was not impressed with the accuracy.

The .17HMR seems to be a more inherently accurate round (YMMV).

Let us know how that Cooper shoots at 100yds. outdoors.
