six4atdWeatherby Mark XXII re-issue???
Has anyone heard of the possibility of a re-issue of the Weatherby Mark XXII? I saw on a website that they would possibly make a .22 & .17HMR. Looked as though the MSRP would be over $800 though.

DPhillipsI haven't heard about the re-issue, but I really enjoy my XXII. I've never experience a jam, but I try to keep it pretty clean.
I've never cared for maple stocks on contemporary rifles (love those dark maple stocks on muzzleloaders) but this stock just seems to "fit", especially for a Weatherby.

aktoklatThe NEW Weatherby model XXII is a bolt action rimfire rifle offered in 22 Long Rifle and 17 HMR calibers. It does not make sense why they name it the model XXII when a previous model was named the same but in a semi-automatic action.

six4atdThanks Aktoklat-
I can't believe it! I was so looking forward to having a re-issue to match my originals. I love bolt actions, but a Weatherby .22 in a bolt action should NOT be called a mark XXII.

FerdinanddI heard rumor of a XII, supposedly built by Anschutz. It's a bolt action - that would be my preference anyway. I just shot a friend's XXII this morning, after taking it apart and cleaning 15 years worth of crud out of it. It easily shot clover leaf looking groups at 25 yards. It puts my 10/22 (no benchrest gun there) to shame.

BuddyK-9Saw the new Weatherby Mark XXII bolt action today. Beautiful rifle. See my post under small bores. Made by Anschutz in Germany. Looks like a scaled down Mark V. Same wood and style. Price was $750. This particular rifle had a extremely nice stock of Claro Walnut with nice dark marble.
