SaeedOur Latest 22 Ammo Test In Several Rifles At Several Distances
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I thought I will start a new thread for this, rather than add to the thread on the Bleiker.
I am posting the results we got in the Anschutz 5418 MS R.
I will post photos of all the groups as I do them.
This is one of my favourite 22 bolt rifles. It is very accurate, very reliable and a pleasure to shoot by all those who come here.

DPSTXHello, I'm new here and about to jump into an 22lr ammo test myself. You didn't specify which "Federal Gold Medal" you used in this test or the one you did in 2010. Which load(s) was it, 711b, 922, um22, UM1 or UM1B??
Thanks
DPSTX

BiebsYes, it's amazing how many types of ammunition will shoot under 1" at 100 yards. Probably a credit to the Anschutz as well. That's a LOT of shooting!
Winchester Super X SS HP, is that the 40gr Truncated HP Subsonic Bullet? The velocity seems high...? Just curious, Thanks

SaeedSorry gentlemen.
I have been out of the country.
The Federal old GM is 711
The new GM is 711B
The Winchester Super X SS is 37 grains HP.
Photos of the groups as well as photos of the ammo will be posted.
Thanks for the tests, very nicely done Saeed.

DMCI*Very nicely done Saeed.
I am wondering if your chronograph gives standard deviation values for velocity. Because I was required to take statistics in college, I know that standard deviation gives an estimate of the spread of the velocity from round to round. The rule is that 95% of the rounds will fall within plus or -2 standard deviations of the mean value, and that 99% will fall within three standard deviations of the mean value.
This means that the smaller standard deviation value the more consistent the ammunition is. If you do this calculation for say 30 rounds and you will be able to judge the most consistent of the rounds considered. This consistency is really what shooter is looking for. Group size in firing is similar, but includes many variables associated with the firearm and the shooter's performance.

SaeedThe velocities quoted are of five shots, fired separately from the time we shoot the groups, but from the same lot of ammo.
The reason I did it this way is because we have 9 targets on the target board at 100 yards, and I found that shooting at the top targets the chronograph will not read these 22 LR velocity.
It reads the velocity when shooting the lower targets.
So because of convenience, I set up the chronograph, and fired 5 shots of each type of ammo.
Then removed the chronograph, and shot the groups for accuracy.
I have all the targets here - I was away and came back Saturday - and have been a bit busy since then.
Also, next week we have friends over for a couple of weeks, so will be busy with them.
Hopefully sometimes next month I will scan and post the targets.
