Eley 22lr Ammo Codes?
I ran across some Eley ammo that has a different code than I am used to. All the Eley I have puchased had the ****-***** code.
****
I know how to read that code, but I found some more ammo at the same place, described as 10X Ultimate. Below are the codes:
EEL89F 001-005
EEL89H 001-006
UH4380 1068
UH3363 1060

That was the only info I was given. The only thing I know for sure is the last four on the last 2 are FPS. You would think they would have an equal number of digits and numbers.

Now that I have you as confused as I am, any clue? I searched every word I could think of, but it seems Eley doesn't provide much info on their product codes.

I have no way of seeing the ammo.
The only thing I can figure is it might be ammo that goes to Midway & other mail order vendors.
You can't order by week, year, machine, lot number & FPS (like the **** code).

Thanks

Those first two are a mystery to me.
I shoot some Eley, and have about a dozen different lots, but none have markings like the first two.
They may be old lots according to an earlier marking system.

The EEL lot numbers are from the early 90's (or earlier). I had a few cases of Tenex like that.

See here for an explanation of the Pre- and post-2005 numbering.

I just looked at two boxes I have of TENEX, numbers on the boxes are:

UFV4021 - 1054
WYB190

3 boxes of TENEX ULTIMATE EPS have the following:

UJ1003 - 1066
UJ1004 - 1066
UGY3322

Why some have no velocity stated I have no idea.

I had the same problem with some boxes not marked with velocities. I bought my Eley from Bob Collins in Georgia. He sells Eley to the 22 Rimfire Benchrest shooting guys, me included. He was able to call someone at Eley and get the velocity info for boxes unmarked and passed that information to me.
Most of my 22 rifles like velocities around 1058 fps, so that's what I look for when buying Eley.
