CarolinasmanPosting pics with an iPad.
Has anyone sorted out how you can post pictures while using an iPad? No right click / left click on these things.... This tablet is a great way to review the forums, but has a few limitations....

DRGPosting pictures isn't an upload function, but a filling in of the URL the picture is hosted at.
I bring up the picture in safari and by holding my finger on the URL at the top the "copy" function comes up. Then I go to the window with the post and picture link opened, hold it down on the white box and "paste".
Give it a try.

CarolinasmanI tried that and all I get is a little blue box with a question mark, using Photobucket

Lhook7I don't have a problem posting pics from my iPad. You have to touch the URL code in photobucket, then you will get a pop up asking if you want to select all, select all, then copy and paste like on a regular computer.

DRGWhat is odd, is that the image url you copied shows the picture as:
ADD5C807-57CD-4D9E-9401-792F860C2E93-776-000000C8049D7208.jpg
That can't be the name of the picture.
I'm not sure what you are copying.

that link requires a login.
I'm not a photobucket user, but isn't there somewhere a "public" link to the picture?

I don't. Since we own the server AR is hosted on, I upload the files to our server.
BUT, many use photobucket with success. See A. Dahlgren's (thank you) suggestion.

calgarychef1Don this is a good time to ask why AR doesn't host pics for its members? We're at the mercy of photobucket and if/when it disappears so do our pictures. It would be a great loss to AR to lose all these great photos.

GeorgeSI can answer for Don - it is the expense of storage that precludes hosting the thousands of photos members post.
If you don't trust photobucket, looks at hunt101.com and imageshack.us

BaxterBIt's so cheap to get your own domain these days I'm not sure why more people don't. Check out goDaddy, pick a name and you'll be able to host as many pics as you want. That way you ftp the files to the site and the link is nice and short and best of all you have 100% control over the whole shebang...
