WstrnhuntrQuestion for you northern boys
What if I were to make a trip to your fine state and say for instance hunt deer and elk with a friend and then had to kill a grizz in the intrest of self defense. What would happen? Would that be grounds for prosecution? I expect not as that sort of thing seems to occur fairly regularly in AK, but just curious.

huntsternorthYou would be legally required to skin the bear out and surrender the hide and skull to ADFG. You would also be required to fill out a DLP report (Defense of Life or Property).
As a non-resident, you can probably expect the Troopers to inspect the attack site to look for evidence of negligence and verify the claims of DLP. If they find anything to doubt what's on your DLP report, they will likely get legally aggressive.

ovisWH,
What hunternorth said was on the money...........Fish and Game will be very thorough..........especially if they even sense someone was trying to circumvent the game regs.....then they become ruthless.....
