MuttlyPerspective
Gotta laugh...
Went off to the range this afternoon, Rabbit Creek. Put a lower front sight on a rifle, tryna get it dialed in. Three shots down range. Start putzin around with the gun, rear sight, little to the left..hear them call a cease fire.
Look up, theres a young moose about 25 yards away, at the edge of the far left shooting lane, enjoying some browse. After about ten minutes or so, young Bullwinkle..decides to wander off back into the trees. I get some crappy cell phone pictures while waiting.
Back to shootin.
Bout half an hour later, said moose decides to go for a stroll across the back line of the range, nicely silhouetted across the rear berm. Another crappy cell phone pic of the small moose hiding behind a target backer at 100 yards.
Looking at that moose, and at the crappy phone pic a couple hours later, had the funny realization that while I,m sweating bullets over iron sight minutia, I,m easily minute of moose at reasonable ranges.
Gotta laugh. Don,t know for sure if its at that damned moose, or myself..

AkshooterI've only seen a few lynx in the wild they only allow themselves to be seen rarely no matter how often you are in the wild.
One of those rare moments for me was a lynx walking accross the pistol range at rabbit creek range.

MuttlyI,ve always thought lynx to be pretty impressive little critters. Spring of 2007, doin a Seattle run. Few miles east of Dease Lake in upper BC, there was a pair of em that I got to see a couple times. Saw the tom by himself once or twice that spring.

ZhurhYou see lynx this time of year, at least I do more than any other. I guess they have their pups and looking for food. I see quite a few of them close to the house actually. There's one, or I figure it's the same one that walks our road. I'll pull up along side of him, he'll stop. glance at me for a second, then continue walking down the side of the road.
I also see lynx in the same areas, again and again. See over a dozen a year in my travels. They often walk my wood lot trail. I don't trap or use the fox pro on them, kinda really like seeing them. We also have a local wolverine that I have seen a few times, kinda cool to see up close; have had him grin at me.

MOA TACTICALI remember sitting having dinner with some of my co-workers in Barrow and staring out at the pack ice from the 2nd story window of Arctic Pizza, when I noticed a white object floating obove the white sea.
Kind of cool to see polar bears while enjoying pizza.
