Does anyone know where to get RAW musk ox fur /Qiviut reasonabley priced for spinning into yarn the old ways? I have some lady friends who spin Alpaca & Yak & camel & sheep & want to find some musk ox Qiviut and i thought about running this by you guys.....if you can get me some,PM with prices and details...These ladies are spinning the old fashion way with 100 year old spinning wheels and doing everything by hand/zero electricity,which i think is cool & a lost art these days...

aktoklatQiviut is ranched in a few places ( Palmer and the Univ of AK, Fairbanks) UAF also sells it raw for $25.00/oz. However, it is doubtful you can make hunting garments with it as it tends to sag. It needs blend of Melino Wool or silk to help maintain its shape. More info at the following link:
