moutain goat in baranoff island
I've booked a goat/deer boat based hunt in Baranoff for the end of november. Someone can tell me how strong is the game population in the island? any advises?

Beautiful place to be that time of year!! I don't know what the goat populations are currently. Deer populations should be good. And it's delicious !! Southeast Sitka Blacktails are the best tasting
Really rugged country. Who did u book with ?

Phil Shoemaker : "I went to a .30-06 on a fine old Mauser action. That worked successfully for a few years until a wounded, vindictive brown bear taught me that precise bullet placement is not always possible in thick alders, at spitting distances and when time is measured in split seconds. Lucky to come out of that lesson alive, I decided to look for a more suitable rifle."

You only need one of each and since your already booked it wouldn’t be helpful if we told you it was horrible. Lol you’ll see some amazing country and some beautiful sights. Invest in good rain gear.

Please let us know how the hunt went. I was trying to get a last minute booking with him in 2017 but he was full...ended up going back to BC for goat. A boat based hunt should be quite the experience!

Bert is a good guy. I've bought a bunch of guns from him over the years.
At least , make sure he has back straps prepared for you. Yum yum !! A good pair of devil's club thorn proof gloves is a real good thing to have with you for your climbs up and down the mountains.
