I will be heading to Kyrgyzstan in October hunting Ibex. Not Alaska but the conditions and temps might be similar.

Where can I get clothes for this trip, and what articels can you suggest, I had a look at Cabelas, but really wasn't sure whick pants/jackets/bibs would be best.

Thanks.

Do yourself a favor and call up Bob Hodson at Barney's Sports Chalet out of Anchorage. He may very well know more about mountain especially sheep hunting gear than any man alive!!! If you're serious I would forget Cabelas exists. For the most part their gear/clothing is junk. Bob will set you up. It may not be cheap, but you'll have the stuff you need and it will be the best!! They have boots, clothing, tents, sleeping bags, trecking poles, stoves, frame packs, ect, ect, ect. Everything is tops. It isn't over priced, but it is expensive because it's the best.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.
