reddy375Alaskan Moose what to expect?
Just trying to find out what is the average size one can expect on an Alaskan Moose these days? I know the Q is vague and depends on outfitter but just trying to get a feel for what is out there from people in the recent know. Thanks.

MARK H. YOUNGArjun,
The guys we work with in the Alaska Range offer a year to year average of about 58"-60" with 80%-90% success rate.

eezridrReddy,
I used to hunt up North East of Kotzebue on the drainages on north side of the Noatak river; Seagull creek and Niminuktuk rivers. It is a pretty remote area and we always harvested over 60" moose. I am not sure who may guide up there. I did those hunts on my own with a resident friend. A lot of work though in tundra tussock country! Unless you are in very good physical shape, get a guide. Bring ankle braces in that country!
