The hunt is conducted on an exclusive use guide area on the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge in Western Alaska.

This hunt historically has offered 100% shooting opportunities and bears have averaged 9' squared.

I lived and hunted this area for over 20 years and the bear numbers are incredible.

Friend of mine and I "are going" this fall to Alaska for either Brown Bear or a Dall/Grizzly combo. Just not having the good fortune of timing when it comes to booking. Seems everytime we come across what we want for the price we are willing to pay, the outfitter books the dates we want, litterly hours before we are to make "the" phone call.

Quite emotional for me to say the least. I had to take a step back and let my friend step in to handle such matters as it was effecting my work performance and my boss and peers were noticing.

Too bad I've had 2 slots open on this hunt for a month at the $13,500 price. Good luck on bookng something for '08 but be very careful as most of the best hunts for '08 are booked already. Alaska has more than its share of unscrupulous operators. Proceed with caution.

My advise would be at this point to just look for a really good hunt for '09.

Four clients got four big bears average was 9' plus. A fifth and sixth client pulled out because of business commitments at the last minute.
