SnellstromSE Alaska Black Bear Boat hunts, any suggestions?
My brother and I want to look into a Spring Black Bear boat hunt in SE Alaska. With a little research I've found that some of these are guided and some un-guided. Any of you able to recommend some operaters that we can talk to? Not looking for a luxury cruise and doesn't have to be guided as we are both very motivated and experienced but are looking for suggestions of operaters that are in areas with lots of pretty big bears.
Thanks

chazgreenI am booked with master gide brad dennison for this June 2nd for a 7 day hunt; I hunted brownies with him in 2003. My hunting "partner" has hunted with him 3 times before. This is a class guide at a fair price. go to alaskahunting.com. I went on a not-great hunt for brownies in 1995, so I have some comparrison as a yardstick; yes I got a bear, no I wouldnt recommend the first guide to anyone. We learn as we go along in life. Hope this helps/ chaz

On your Brown Bear hunts what were the factors that made them good hunts or not so good if you can elaborate?

Cold Zerosnellstrom;
since you said no luxru yachts, that means you can eliminate jimmie rosenbruch glacier guides.
take a look at muskegexcursions, a member here with a clean and reputable reputation. p.o.w. area. good luck.
