Deutsch-DrahthaarSummer Pike Fly-in....Out of Fairbanks?
OK....So what it's not a hunting topic. I'm bringing a hand cannon for unsupected critters so it counts!
I haven't done a fly-in for pike since I have lived here in Alaska all these years. So this year is the year. Any Ideas of where (Lakes, rivers ect) and pilots/air services? I planning on mid June for the trip.
I would like to catch a trophy for the wall.

Thanks,
Ben
When I lived up there over ten years ago, I always liked Pikes Landing.

Oh yeah, that's a restaurant/bar, not a fishing resort!

DD,
Give Andy Greenblatt a call. The name of his service escapes me but he lives in Fairbanks and is very knowlegible. Also, Very Reliable.
Joe
I boat into Minto flats to fish for pike each summer. There are folks who will fly you in and also provide a small boat with trolling motor. Not sure of the cost but seems to me the flying time is about 10-15 minutes. I'm sure if you call one of the flying services out of the Fairbanks phonebook someone will point you in the right direction. We usually catch a lot of hammerhandle pike and some decent sized ones. In my experience, the lakes and rivers with the least access have the best fishing. Good fishing!
