Dennis SpenderCaribou hunt
Would like to hunt Alaska for Caribou with my son in 2008. Suggestions for reliable, productive fully guided services would be appreciated. Thanks Dennis

WalkerThe Outfitter that flew us in to Lake Clark carries 2 weapons when guiding hunters and fishermen. First is a 12 pump gun(I didn't ask which model) stoked with slugs when guiding hunters, one birdshot in the chamber followed by slugs when guiding fishermen.
The birdshot is to discourage a curios bear.
On his hip he carries a 44mag, Redhawk. I did ask him why he carried it. He stated that if a bear gets on you then a long gun will be useless. Makes sense to me.
