I do love my model 70s. But the new Sako Kodiak with a 21 1/2" barrel is worth thinking about, it only comes in 338 win and 375 H&H but what a beutiful rifle.

They also have a blue/walnut model listed under the "shot show special" tab.

The original M70 Alaskan offered in the 1950s was a walnut stocked rifle.

I'll wonder if they used a similar stock pattern.

There are pictures of the new rifles on Winchester web site. Also new this year is a 257 Roberts in the Featherweight model.

9lbs minus scope and rings on that Alaskan? No, thanks. I'm good there. 257 Roberts offered in the featherweight but on a long action? Yeah, I'm good there as well.
