I have never shot a 9.3X62 but my opinion is that it would make a great elk moose bear gun.

Personally I would load up a 286 grain nosler partition. I almost bought a box of them and I don't even have a 9.3x62 (yet [Big Grin] ).

Pete,
I used to live there & the .375 was popular then. The 9.3X62 would be a good round for whatever you encounter. Figure it on being a handloading proposition though. Ammo would be very hard to find in Alaska.
