........I,ve got a little time here at home on R&R so I think I,ll go see if I can find a bigish bear,.,or at least one that I want to kill.,.....Any pointers ??

snowhoundYeah. Bring a 30-06.
It´s lighter to carry and doesn´t kick nearly as much!

Wich place are you at?
If your up at mat glacier it's kind of a hard time of year to get around. Caught in between spring snow and good weel access. I've always seen a lot of bears up around Tazlina, Nelchina.
If your in S.E. don't you guy's just grab your rifle and raincoat and jump in the skiff and go for it.

gumboot458.Ya ,., The best laid plans ya know .,. I thot I would have another week of R&R but yesterday morning I got a call and so tomorrow I have to go out to Kensington for a month

., The money is ok but I have been waiteing for it to warm up and more bears to be wandering around .. It was 33 Deg F. this morning here....There is still 2-3 ft of snow in the timber in alot of places..And Way DEEP up on the mountains.. I,m in Huna right now. The skiff is on the beach at the bottom of the stairs ..I checked the scope on the 416 .,., Its wacking real good..,A mild 300 gr. Molyed X bullet @ 2836 fps @ 18 'fm muz.. Bout an inch and a half group @ a hundred.,.,And now I have to go to work...Hope fully I can fill the tag this fall .....,.,
