I live and guide very near where this bear was killed and the numbers I heard from the biologist were no where as big as this writer suggests however it was a huge bear. In 1999 I took a bear that was tagged and sealed by F&G in King Salmon with a 30 8/16" skull ( 18 1/2" x 12') which was the biggest ever taken on the peninsula.
