Just curious if any of you Alaska guys have an opinion or experience with this combo or the Marlin rifle.
I know some of you prolly use the 45-70 hot loaded how does it compare?
At the pressures that the BLR could withstand I kinda thought this combo would be pretty lethal close range rig.

The 450 Marlin matches the 45-70 load by PMC .350 @ 2100 [?] If you're making a choice between 45-70 and 450 I'd take the 45-70 .Many more factory loads and very versatil for handloading.
