I was in Juneau in May and I am afraid it is true about the road from Juneau to Skagway, but it will take some time before that road is built.

Regarding a road from Juneau to Skagway, if it is like other topics (like moving the capitol from Juneau to Willow), then it will be a long wait. Then again, some projects magically happen, like roads which get rebuilt every couple of years.

It's a straw dog to get funding and support to build the Braadfield Canal Road into Canada. High-speed ferries and cross-island roads systems will take care of the rest of it. Not necessarily saying it's a good idea; just my take on the situation.
