brown/grizz claws
Can you legally buy a bear claw? If so, has anyone seen them for sale at any shops ect.
I'd try to get one for my daughters school study if they arent prohibited, or prohibitivly expensive!!

TSJ, replica's are fine. Real Griz claws can create a big mess, so avoid them. There are only a few scenario's where the original, legally licensed hunter can sell Griz claws and they have to have ALL paperwork to prove legality. Then, some States (like mine) prohibit the purchase or sale of any Bear parts (do to poaching problems). Skulls U. offers high quality goods. LDK

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

I think someone can donate a claw as well if they have any. Oddly, Vermont does allow sales of legally harvested black bear parts within the state. However, if you wish to sell out of state then it becomes a Federal issue and you need permits. I don't think you would need permits for a gift.

Just a thought if someone from Alaska reads this and wants to give you a claw.

Hi Ann,
speaking of bears, had a big one going between our fields and the neighbors, smashing corn like he owned it. Wouldnt come out during daylight hours. Had a fellow with dogs go in, it killed one dog and beat up a couple others but he got it. 422# field dressed.
If another big one moves in I'll call you if you like dog hunts.
