mark65x55Alaska DIY hunt.
Could anybody recommend some good reading, books, web pages, or any info. in general for someone planning their first DIY hunt in Alaska? I guess Alaska hunting regulations should be first on my list?

Paul HYou are correct
http://www.wildlife.alaska.gov/regulations/huntregs.cfm is the first place to start. New regs come out in July. I'd also highly recomend getting a copy of ADF&G's game care video. ADF&G is very serious about meat not being wasted.
While you might not be considering a float hunt, and unless you are very experienced floating remote rivers I'd highly recomend against such a hunt, this is a very good book for the DIY
http://www.outdoorsdirectory.com/products/alaska_float_hunting.htmAlso check the Alaskan hunting forum on that web page, lots of helpful folks to steer you in the right direction.

John/AlaskaWhile you are on the state's site. They have a good hunt planning guide available. Look around at the pubs available. Great info there!
