Alaska DIY hunt.
Could anybody recommend some good reading, books, web pages, or any info. in general for someone planning their first DIY hunt in Alaska? I guess Alaska hunting regulations should be first on my list?

You are correct http://www.wildlife.alaska.gov/regulations/huntregs.cfm
is the first place to start. New regs come out in July. I'd also highly recomend getting a copy of ADF&G's game care video. ADF&G is very serious about meat not being wasted.

While you might not be considering a float hunt, and unless you are very experienced floating remote rivers I'd highly recomend against such a hunt, this is a very good book for the DIY http://www.outdoorsdirectory.com/products/alaska_float_hunting.htm

Also check the Alaskan hunting forum on that web page, lots of helpful folks to steer you in the right direction.

While you are on the state's site. They have a good hunt planning guide available. Look around at the pubs available. Great info there!
