buckeyeshooterYou will like it. I have always thought that if I hunted brown bear I would want to do it in the old guide area they hunted

alaska oneI went by his office today but he was in Anchorage. I'll try to talk to him tomorrow. He owns a publishing company called Great Northwest Publishing. He has nine books which are all about hunting. He is the author of Track of the Kodiak and Last of The Great Brown Bear Men as buckeyeshooter said. I'm not trying to promote his business but the website is
www.AlaskaOutdoorBooks.com. The other books are authored by other hunters. Some good reading to check out.

Cold ZeroI have read Last of The Great Brown Bear Men, Track of The Kodiak and Alaska's Bear Hunting Judge. The judge also used an M1 Garand for some bears from what I remember. I beleive he finally passed on in the bow of a boat while pursueing his pasion of Brwn bears, not a bad way to go. Better than dying while on the bench.
But, that was many years ago and I do not own any copies. For anyone who enjoys AK. hunting, they are must reading classics. In fact, I think that this will motivate me to hit the Library and get them again.

buckeyeshooterI have not read Ak's Bear Hunting Judge, thank you for the suggestion.
I have a copy signed by both Pinell and Talifson - not something anyone could talk me out of very easily. Also had the opportunity to hunt Karluk Lake for bears and to see the places they talked about. Great book about a great place and the great men and bears that walked it.
