Carrying a rifle for bear defense
I brought several boxes of HP ammo through last month. No problems. I called RCMP before I left and they said it was legal.

You can borrow money, but you can't borrow time. Don't wait, go now.

Indeed there is no restriction on HPs in Canada.

Just acquired a S&W 69. I like the weight and narrow profile. I have had a 629 for 20 years and now it may see less carry use.
Bought some 255 gr Buffalo bore loads and 305 HSM's to try out shortly.
I took a Marlin 45-70 stainless lever gun and trimmed the barrel from 24" to 20" some years back. Just thought the 18" on the guide gun was too short for my taste.
That rifle with Garrett or Buffalo bore +p hard cast bullets is a short handy BEAST. Far better than any pistol.

I've got one of those M69s too, slick little .44. Brisk with stout loads.
