Left Handers, The "Company that Treats YOU as Equals...
Lefties...

Take a hard look at the Blaser R 93.

Their barrels, and stock/recievers are "generic".

By simply using a left hand bolt carrier and bolt head you have a left hand bolt rifle.

If other people in your family are right handed, they simply insert their their right hand bolt carrier/right hand bolt head, and "presto" they have a right hand bolt rifle.

SHHHHH

You'll let the cat out of the bag and prices will go even higher than the Euro has driven them already.

When my wife joined us last month in Botswana afer we had been in Mozambique for 10 days, I just had her right handed bolt and a .30-06 barrel ready for her to hunt with.

Unfortunatly for her (not me) she reinjured her broken collar bone so I had to use my lefty 9.3x64 to take all the game we hunted in Botswana.

It's the ONLY rifle that offers so many options for lefties.

I know they are a love / hate relationship for many, but they just plain work and shoot so well out of the box.

They are very nice rifles, that's for sure. But they also cost an arm and a leg. I like having two of each...

I like the fact that they are so easily converted to left handed but I just can't get past their looks.

x2 They just don't do it for me. Not with other accurate, less expensive and better looking options out there.

For the sake of arguement let's say I bought one of there less expensive rifles for about $3,000-$3,300.

How much for extra barrels? bolts?

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Yah, and then there is the price of them. That's pushing into very nice custom territory. If I were going to drop 3 on a rifle right now it'd be a NULA, not a Blaser.

You can buy a professional R93 with one barrel for about $2500.

I would never use an R93 for dangerous game. They have been known to go "click" at just the wrong time.

For dangerous game give me an old-fashioned Mauser-type action.

I have the R84s which is a precursor to the R93 but is a 60 degree turnbolt action.

PS: Merkel makes a KR1 which can be switched to left hand with the addition of a bolt. I have a left hand .270 that is very slick. I have a 9.3X62 barrel on order for it.

For the record, I bought a used synthetic for $600, a couple of barrels for $600 or so each and my bolt and bolt head for less than the cost of a barrel.
You certainly can spend as much as you want on a Blaser R93 system but you don't have to.

How much for a scope mount and rings for each barrel?

non adjustable 1" mounts are found often around $225 with quick detatchable mounts a bit more. But there is much value in their mounts.
I see barrels with magazines from $650 up. Bolt heads and bolt assemblies from $225 each. All round numbered estimates.

Not sure what you mean by "much value" in the mounts. They either hold a scope securely or they don't.
No one will say how much QD mounts cost, are they that expensive?

Yes, the mounts hold the scope securely. And they can be switched to other barrels easily. QD mounts are more expensive, how much I am not sure. Maybe $275-$325? That is why many guys use standard mounts.

Both style of Blaser Mounts will go on and off and maintain 100% zero.
