Used to own a lefty .22 from Kimber of Oregon but my memory escapes me if it was a model 84 (CRS sydrome).
Well put together rifle and it was reasonably acccurate. Good choice for a lefty.

Would I buy another? Nope. Magazines are to difficult to find and getting very expensive and the "new" Kimber factory will not work on them so parts can be difficult to find as well.

I know you didnt ask this, but if I were in the market to buy another custom .22 or small centerfire I would pass on the Kimber and buy a Cooper.

I have a Kimber of Oregon Model 84 in .17 Remington. I'm very happy with its fit, finish, and accuracy.

I have one 84 in .222 with a factory heavy barrel. One of the few companys that I know of that made a short action lefty. I missed a 17rem by a few days and it still haughts me.

I have a LH Kimber in 22lr, 22 Hornet and 223. Great rifles.

I may be wrong but the rimfire Kimbers from Oregon were model 82's. Model 82 were also Hornets,25/20 single shots and 218 bees.

Thanks for the feedback. They look like nice rifles but nothing like getting feedback from owners.

Cooper only make centrefires available as single shot bolt actions, right?

I could be mistaken, but I don;t believe Kimber followed through with its plans to make a LH M84. I have a.22 and a .223 in LH and tried to get in on an early M84 but Kimber advised me that they dropped it.

Randy, I remember your post selling your 82...don't remember any details...maybe we should split a bottle of memory pills.

The 82 (mostly rimfire?) was made in LH. I was one of the many that sent in letters (way back when) requesting they build the 82 .22 in LH. Our family sure likes ours!

The 84 (.223 size) was also built in LH. People I spoke with that owned them really liked them. I wanted one bad, but never had the money and conditions right. If I were to buy a LH .223 in bolt action today, Cooper would be at the top of my list. As a side note: Dan Cooper worked at Kimber before starting Cooper Arms.

The 89 big game rifle was only built in RH that I'm aware of. I didn't see any LH 89 rifles, parts, or prototypes at the Kimber closing sales.

My LH 84 was S/N: LH44, had a medium-heavy .223 barrel, and was very fun to hold/look at.

It shot fairly well, but to be honest, didn't feed/extract very well at all. A bit of a heart-breaker, so I sold it.

I haven't heard any other reports that mirror mine though, so I'm inclined to think that it was an exception to the rule.

Vol717, I think you are confusing Kimber of Oregon with Kimber of Yonkers the present owners. Kimber of Oregen did make left hand guns. Yonkers will laugh at you if asked.

Ian, you didn't get the only bad Kimber. I read a story one time somewhere by someone (pass those memory pills, please) about "THE 10 WORST RIFLES I OWNED". He included a 82 in his list. Great looker, but wouldn't shoot for him.

I have no interest in this rifle or the seller. Just passing along info about a rifle I would buy if I were not ".22ed" out about now. These old Kimbers have some very nice wood.

I have a Kimber model 84 LH custom classic in 223 Rem. Beautiful wood , perfect metal. Shoots great and is for sale!

No, it was the Yonkers folks that actually put out a catalog with a photo of a left hand 8400. I called them and they said they'd changed their mind. I'd sure like to get hold of that prototype.
