I'm thinking i need a larger bore gun,and i think the 9.3x62 would be great. i missed the zastava import dang it.
also any one got an idea for a 416 rigby action that won't break the piggy bank too bad?

Just buy any .30/06 sized bolt action and rebarrel it. You won't need to do any action work to feed the cartridges. McGowen does my rebarreling.

I have a left hand stainless steel Ruger 77 in .416 Ruger I'm thinking of selling.

I would buy a Ruger Hawkeye LH SS 30-06 laminate from CDNN they were on sale around $550 and have Pac-Nor or others rebarrel it to 9.3 X 62 with exact same barrel contour. That is what I did with a Win 70 LH action and love the rifle.

kk alaska i like your idea, what is the contour like on your mod 70? i don't want a light barrel. i was thinking about a small upsize in the barrel

My contour is light it is the exact factory contour of the Win 70 sporter in 270 Win. With the larger bore diameter it ends up quite light, which is what I prefer. Will measure muzzle dimensions. Also I will measure my LH Ruger .270 Win. muzzle to compare.

The Beretta importers have been importing the Zastava rifles and actions into Australia for a couple of years now and the quality has been very good for the price.

Another option is the Blaser R93 or R8. Can be most any caliber you want and left hand as well. You'll have a hard time finding a more accurate rifle.

Blasers cost thousands of dollars, and barrels can cost $800-$1500.

You can build or buy rifles just as accurate for far less.

Owned two 9.3x62's. Sold one and then built another. Each was built on a Ruger stainless 06 action. Zero feeding issues with either.

With respect on the 416 Rigby build on Lt handed action, hands down the best action for the buck is a Montana 1999 action you can pick up for between 800-1000 dollars

I spoke to MRC about this a while back when they did my 404J. They said it would take a lot of work to cram a 416 Rigby into their long action, if it could be done at all. Regardless they advised against it. Now if they ever make the PH action in a LH, there ya go. I think the least expensive route would be getting a LH CZ 375 action and going from there. If CRF is no concern, a Weatherby action is probably the easiest.

Yes, you are correct. They are not inexpensive. But they are high quality and offe switch barrel capabilities with outstanding accuracy.
But I will admit, they are not for everyone.
