Fellow lefties,

I've always wanted a nice left handed bolt action 22 rimfire and now that CZ has a couple of lefties I've decided to buy one. The problem is which one.

The Lux with the long 25" barrel, hogsback stock and sexy schnabel,

or the American with the 22.5" barrel and the classic styled stock.

Both come with turkish walnut and gloss blue and I'll probably scope it. What do you think?

If it was me laying out the $$$ - between the two I'd have to admit I'm partial the American.

i bought the american for my lefy handed son. it isn't as accurate as my lh anschutz but it isn't far behind. i did put a different sear in it and made the trigger real good. i like the looks of it better than my anschutz. i personally don't care for the look of the lux stock but some do, that is why there is more than one flavor. i don't like the protruding magazine on any of them but being left handed you got to learn to live with what is offered.
if i had it to do over i would buy myself the american as the anschutz is not 500 dollars better.

When I got mine the American was the only one avilable. I like both styles but would probably lean toward the American. In my opinion the only fault in the CZs is the backwards safety.

Frank, it was the LH 452 American for me. I just can't warm up to the hogback stock, but that's purely a personal choice. Mine came with a nice stock that has some fiddleback in it ... nicer wood than I've gotten on any of my other factory LH rifles. I have laid in some ammo for testing, but have yet to find the time to wring it out. It sure seems to be held in high esteem by those that have them.

Frank, I bought the American also and its as accurate as my Anschutz. I too kinda shake when I look at the hog's back stock comb.

Hog's back?? Kind of reminds me of a boar's back when he is . . . . well, you know.

I picked up the LUX left for my son, excellent trigger, shoots great, and the sights are great.

Matches the scout and Full Stock we had

To bad they do not make more in left versions.

In overall appearance I would go with the Lux.Always had a fondness for schnabel foreends.I would be curious however how the scope positioning would be with the humpback buttstock.Other than that,that would be my choice.

Just a word of caution. The Lux model hass 11mm scope mount grooves that require the use of CZ rings/bases. The American uses standard width
grooves that are compatible with all commonly available rings/bases.
