Melvin Forbes has taken his M24 rifle and is offering it through a Maine based manufacturer.I contacted Forbes and asked if it would be offered in Left hand.Forbes said no,so I asked him what it would take to get it offered in LH. He laughed and said "people calling and asking for it in LH".

So if you want one in lefty call him and ask. 304-292-0600.

Or just go to his web site and order one. He will build any of his rifles in a left hand version.

I have one of Mr. Forbes rifles in .260 Remington. Splendid rifle. It is my go to whitetail rifle.
They are well worth the cost.

What isn't clear in your post is whether this is a cheaper mass produced variant in addition to his hand-built 24s or a complete replacement for all his production. Do you know which?

Every write up out there states that it's currently a M24 only production.Stocks will be made by melvin,actions will be built by a well known maine based defense contractor,offered in limited calibers.NULA will still be in house only. At $1500 a rifle it's a bargain.

Having one in LH would be real good and beat the shit out of another M700.

Sounds like a repeat of the Colt Light Rifle deal except Mel keeps the company. I think a Maine company made the barrels for the Colt Light Rifle too. Something similar to "SARCO" but not quite. Long time Colt subcontractor for the M16/AR rifles. The CLR was also supposed to be a $1200-$1500 rifle. I love mine and I'm glad to see something similar again.

Hope this turns out. I have a M24 in '06 and would love to add a 270 to the mix.

It's probably SACO. They built Weatherby's Mark V rifles when Ed W. brought manufacturing back stateside from Japan.

If you love your Colt Light Rifle, you must have gotten a rare specimen. The universal review from owners on the 'net (except for the gun writer whores) was that they did not work or shoot well.

The Forbes Rifle Model 24B is not currently available in a left-handed variant. Projected availability on the left-handed 24B is first quarter of 2013.
That said, the New Ultra Light Arms M24 version IS available in a left-handed configuration. Contact Melvin Fobes at NULA for further information (www.newultralight.com).
