Hornady SST
Hi everybody
Has anyone experienced the Hornadys SST?
I will like to know its performance and limitations to be used hunting game upto .... which weight ?

Also I will like its comparison between the Nosler BT ... which is better ?

Thank you all in advance

The Hornady SST is a superbly accurate bullet designed to compete head to head with the Nosler ballistic tip.

I personally prefer it, however, I'd say use it only where you'd use a ballistic tip. I'd shy away from animals over 300 pounds where a better bullet might be used...ie. a partician.

You may not be able to find a better and more accurate hunting bullet however...(for thin skinned and under 300 pound animals)

I called Hornady and asked them if I could use the same reloading data for the SST as I use for the Nosler Ballistic Tips in my 300 RUM. The tech guy told me "NO!", the SSTs will not handle the velocity that the NBTs will. FWIW.

I shoot a 139 gr in my 7mm-08. I have taken a doe at 25 or so yards and an antelope at 300 yds. Both dropped in their tracks. I really like them.
