my wife's "corsican" ram from friday (11/28)
I passed on this sheep early in the morning when the herd moved by (didn't want to spoil the deer hunting - then I passed on a nice 8 point that maybe I shouldn't have, but he didn't give me all that long to think about it). Anyway, the herd moved down the canyon back towards our cabin, so after the morning hunt, my wife & I carefully stalked back towards the herd. I had already picked this ram out as the biggest of the bunch, although there was one tighter curled ram that may have actually been as large or larger, but none flared out quite so much as this one.

As we approached, the herd was bunched up feeding in a shallow side canyon - amazing how many animals can "dissappear" into a shallow depression. When they started stepping out, this guy was near the front of the bunch, and I told her "there he is" and she asked "should I shoot him?" and I said "if you want to". She cocked the hammer back on her encore and let him have a 6.5 mm 120 gr Barnes XLC through both lungs. He only ran about 30 yards before piling up.

We've only seen one bigger on the property, and that was a couple of years ago (I passed on him myself in order to try to get my wife a shot at him, but there were too many eyes that time, and the terrain didn't lend itself as well). I have seen a couple across the fence that might beat him, though.
