Hill Country Hunts
We just returned from the Texas Hill Country and my hunters brought home a gold metal axis, a gold metal fallow, and two outstanding rams. We had great weather and made some new friends and made some great memories. We will try to forget stripping down to our shorts and going swimming for the axis.

My wife and I are guides and outfitters. We were hunting close to Bandera. I had one of my hunters with me and she had the other three with her. She was spotting for me so we could get a little closer for a shot.My hunter made a great shot on a big axis at about 150 yards. Its hard to put most exotics down on the spot so this axis ran about 100 yards and jumped in a lake. No choice but to strip and go in. Thank god my wife high centered the truck on the way to me or she would be selling the videos now. I have retreived game from alot of places, but this is a first for me.

I know the place well. I shot 2 blackbuck and a great red stag on that ranch. I hunted with my good friend Greg Rodriguez of Mombasa Trading Co. on those hunts.
