Bill/OregonHey Buff hunter: My folks came from France to Virginia in the 1660s. Just don't forget, the French were there for us against King George III when we most needed them.
There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.

Hey Bill, we've paid them several times over since then. WWII, Indochina, Middle East, etc... Now they owe us a few.

Exit31I don't think M98 was expecting this reaction. I hear their is good hunting in france.????
Maybe should move to political forum? Now how does it go that the french owe you for Indochina??? Middle east? Heh?
DeGaule told you not to go into Indochina and Chirac told you not to go into Iraq. ??? Who owe's whom? You listened to the wrong presidents, especially you guys think they owe you? Now maybe you could pay them by paying attention???
Your problem with the french is that they know you are perdictable and they politely try to pay you back. Saving you from yourselves sort of thing.
Face it France was right then and now. You owe them big time for all the french fry insults.
Also, the french are running a republic, give them slack as they give you.
I still think that this should be moved to the political tread.
Why shall there not be patient confidence in the ultimate justice of the people? Is there any better or equal hope in the world? Abraham Lincoln

OrchapeYes, I am French but I have lived in San Francisco for the last 5 years.
There are some great hunting in France:
red deer, roe deer, boar, chamois, mouflon, pheasants, ducks...
This is my first message on the forum.
Looking forward to discovering more.

thanks for the repley.....
i have got some good feed back from the guys which has been a great help
im heading of to europe next year with my wife, and we are going to stop over at a euro camp just out of paris june 6-12 for a few days, i was wondering could you tell me do you think it is necessary to pre book accomidation during this time of the year , if we book accomidation it locks us in to a schedule, so if we see something we like it really limits us, i would just prefer to get my accomidation as i drive, but am not sure if this is a wise thing to do
where are you located in france
i would be keen so spend some time in the french alps as i have been told it quite pretty
also any tips on accomidation
regards daniel

jbderunzDear Daniel
I am not sure to understand what is a Euro Camp.
3 weeks ago I was in Australia and I have a really good time in your beautiful country. I had the joy to meet Nitrox.
About your travel in FRance:
No, You don't need to have reservation if You choose accomodations out of the main ciies. In the outskirt of Paris there is plenty of cheap Hotels (balladins, formule1....)
In the Alps, plenty of gite, self-cattering appartments very cheap, most of the time farms.
But these affordable options require Your using a car.
Don't be upset, I can reserve any accomodation You wish, whereever and whenever. Just tell me.
Good luck

jbderunzHi Dan
I am living in the East of France just close to Germany (100m ) and the German town Sarrebrucken, in France between Metz and Strasbourg.
I have had a look a some resorts in France : here are 2 links
Gites in Savoie
gites camping places in Savoie
camping places Have a look to get an opinion.
Anyhow I have a hunting partner from this region (Savoie) and I'll ask him to find the best and the most affordable accomodations. If he cannot, I know more hunters from this region (maniac hunters this "Savoyard guys") who can help more than a little.
Your proposition is in the best hands
I'll mail You later
My best regards
jb

EdmondSure you can

If it helps, I have just spent two weeks touring europe with four nights spent in France, and didn't book any accomodation in advance and had no trouble finding a place to stay. The only place we had to phone a second hotel/campsite was Venice and obviously that is a major tourist destination so was expected.
English school holidays don't start until the second week of July as a rule so you will have very few English Tourists clogging hotels around Paris before then.
