A report about a hunt of last week end in the beautiful "La Conca" game preserve

in Tuscany - central Italy. The hunting area is about 300 hectares (fenced).
Ther'is lot of game: wild boar, fallow deer, roe deer, muflon sheep.
We were a group of 12 buddies all togheter and we have killed 16 boars and one fallow in a very exciting driven hunt. See some pictures

all included around 1000 euros.

sorry this was for this year hunt as we took a lot of animals ( see the most recent report) The hunt of 2008 was about 800 euros.

Sounds like a lot of fun without having to break the bank
Does the hunter get to keep the meat that is harvested or does that get donated?

No No we get the meat and we make very good salame

I prepared from wild boar female till 80 kg weight, a salami which we call "Babic". It is a little bit spicy, only for "connaisseur-s"

Dina, our salami is very sweet. Normally we use the old boar ( we eat the young...) and we put pig bacon and boar meat. Only a little spicy.

Mario: You hunt the boars with a shotgun? Slugs or buckshot?
