Hunting Alaska's Mulchatna herd
I am looking for a good outfitter who has drop camps that supply everything except guide for Hunting the Mulchatna herd. Of course we will bring in sleeping bags etc. If need be food also. We want the tents, cooking facilities etc already set up when we come in. The individual, I hunted with in New Zealand would like to hunt Caribou in Alaska and since I hunted there many years ago in a drop camp I thought it would be a great way to go. The person I hunted with, went out of business. You can email me directly at brookscarmichael@yahoo.com if you want or just post and I will get in touch with you.

Lake Clark Air provides fully outfitted/unguided hunts...

I hunted with them last September and they are very competent and well organized..

Call and ask for Mark Lang at (907) 781-2252...

Brooks: Maybe I misread a portion of your post but if your friend is not a U.S. citizen he's going to need a registered guide to go with. Alaska game laws specifically state that a nonresident alien must be accompanied in the field by an Alaska licensed guide. Sorry to burst your bubble but...

Danny:The way I understand it, it's only for big game only, not small game or fishing. Here's the quote straight from the 2003-2004 hunting regulations.
"Nonresident alien hunters (not U.S. residents)must be accompanied in the field by an Alaska licensed guide to hunt any big game animal." As mentioned above, it's from the hunting regs, never heard anything like that in the fishing regs. Bear in Fairbanks

Lake Clark or Holiday Air would be who I would call first.
