FourtyonesixSitka blacktail deer Kodiak island cancelation!!
November 15-22
Cost $4000 for 1x1 or $3250 each for 2x1
I do all my own guiding and this will be the first hunt for deer fall of 2015. Hunt is operated as heated tent camp with home style meals and padded cots. You can shoot two deer, two foxes and even some waterfowl. Hunts are spot and stalk, the last couple winters on kodiak have been mild. So deer numbers should be looking really good!

Is best as I may be out on a hunt and not be able to get to my phone.

Folks, this is about as honest a hunt as you can get. Jake tells it fair. I had a great hunt with him in 2011 and took two very fine Sitka Blacktails.
If they are out there, Jake will get you on them.
Regards,
Robert

muttleysgoneAt the outset, let me say that I have not hunted with this outfitter, but I did do a boat trip for sitka blacktail there. A group of us went there way back in 1998, and I will never forget it. Arguing with one of the great bears over a blacktail buck will stick with me forever. For those who have dreamed of a brown bear hunt on Kodiak Island, but never dreamed of being able to do one, this is a very interesting hunting experience. The hunting is more physical than some might imagine. While the mountains are not much more than 3000 ft elevation max, they begin at sea level, so you have to hike up all of it. The nice bucks are found near the peaks of the mountains, so it will help to be in decent shape. When we hunted, we could have bought a maximum of five tags. Most will find two to be enough to have a great hunt. I would highly recommend this sort of hunt as one of the variety of hunting experiences that make life as a hunter worthwhile.
Most of my money I spent on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted

Fourtyonesixi will add to muttleysgone post, the mountians in my area top out closer to 2000 feet as i am on the east side of the island. in november the deer are coming off the mountians and we rarely have to actually climb all the way to the top. they can be physical hunts for sure, but we work with what the deer are doing. we've killed alot of bucks on the beach and the valley floor! probably more common than the top of the mountians for this time of year.
i will also add that i can do nov 22-29 dates as well, the last deer hunter is willing to move his dates to early november if someone is looking for a thanksgiving hunt. this is a fantastic 2x1 hunt with medium aged kids as well or a spouse!

The funny part of that pic is that just 5 months earlier I had a nasty accident that left me with 7 bones broken in 10 places.
I was just plain thrilled to be alive and mobile at that point in my life.

Robert

A7DaveJake, what Brown Bear permits should we apply for? Do you guide a specific unit on Kodiak for bear (or deer)? I'm a resident. Haven't won the lottery yet, but luck happens.
