Once again Gary Hopkins is hunting Sondelani ranch outside Bulawayo. For the '18 season Gary is offering a very low daily fee. Check it out as it is more than fair. Details below.

Gary Hopkins/Klipkraal Safaris is hunting the Sondelani Ranch and Lodge in Western Zimbabwe that is 2.5 hours outside of Bulawayo. Sondelani is 20,000 acres of bush under game fence. The buffalo herd is about 300 animals, they have been on the property for over 10 years and are completely self sustaining. The property has a large dam with resident hippo and the Mtshabezi river runs through it providing some challenging hunting in the thick cover around the dam and in the riverine. Trophy quality is quite good with a reasonable expectation of around 38". The bush can be thick but the terrain is basically flat offering some fairly easy walking.

There is a variety of PG on Sondelani but the PG hunting is better on a close by property of 40,000 acres where all the common Zim species can be hunted on a trophy fee basis including crocodile.

The lodge is of a high quality having private chalets with double or single beds offered and a full bath with bidet. Bar and dining area are set up very comfortably and you should expect excellent food.

This is a good hunt at a very good price and logistically easy being near Bulawayo so you don't need expensive charters or long bone jarring rides into the Valley. It also is not far from Hwange Park and the Falls making a tour before or after the hunt a reasonable add-on which Gary can do or arrange.

I went on my first safari there in 1988. it was truly a magnificent place. I last went there in the mid-90's. It still held vast amounts of game. The lodge was extraordinarily nice.

The buff trophy fee is less than I understand the government gets for each buff. Is that number correct?
