Folks,AW's hunt was to start on January 19 with Selkirk Guiding and Outfitting.
As of this morning January 20 he had taken a big cougar and (3) bobcats.
I don't want to spoil a hunt report by AW if he chooses to write one
so I won't write more except to say there is (1) of these hunts still available for Feb '24.
If you can get away on short notice do it. This is a great hunt with a great outfit.

I've worked with Bruce Duncan/Cold Trail LLC about 20 years and successfully hunted both cougar and whitetail with him. His cougar hunters are 100% successful on mature males. You will never be encouraged to shoot a female or a young cat. If in the unlikely situation that you are not successful you can return at no cost to you.
The hunt is conducted in the Priest Lake area in Idaho's Unit 1. In the past there was extensive logging there which left a great network of roads. Therefore you usually can get quite close to the treed cat which means the hunt doesn't have to be a butt buster at all. When I got my cat we walked in 20 minute on flat ground and shot him.
You'll have a minimum of three guides on snowmobiles out looking for tracks each morning way before sunrise. Jeff described this as a "full court press" and it is just that.
Accommodations are in Bruce's Idaho house which is a very nice 2500 sq ft home with WiFi, big screen TV etc. There are no wet tents or bunkhouse accommodations necessary. AND you'll be the only hunter in camp unless you bring a buddy.
