MARK H. YOUNGExcellent oppportunity for Canada Moose and big black bear
Canada has not historically been our market so when I had a couple of inquiries recently about Canada moose and black bear I contacted Bob Clark/Samwise on AR. Bob was a District Forest Manager in BC as I was sure he'd rcommend someone very good. Bob recommended John Blackwell's Fawnie Mountain Outfitters in central BC and after talking with John I'm convince we'll be having some very happy clients with him.
John hunts only Canada moose and black bear but the quality is way above average. The moose are big and will run 40"-55" with a B&C bull definitely possible and all bulls qualifying for P&Y. Bear will be 6'-8' square and a 7 footer can be had by a selective hunter. Success on moose is 95% and bears 173% as most people choose to take a second bear.
Bear hunts are conducted in the spring with 3 seven days hunts starting 20 May and running through 9 June. The first hunt will have fewer bear sightings but most will be boars. The following hunt will show more bears as the rut starts to kick in.
These hunts are all spot and stalk utilizing 4x4's and stalking on foot. No tree stands on this one. Camp is a tented affair with shower and a full time cook.
If you fill your tag/tags early John will fly you to his Moose Lake Lodge to fish for rainbows at no additional cost. john also picks up bear trophies as they are taken and immediately freezes them. You then can take the trophy home with you or leave the trophy with John and he will have his taxidermist tan the hide or mount the bear as you see fit.
Hunters arrive Prince George and are picked up there by their guide.
Pricing:
2X1 7 days $4,250
1x1 7 days $5,500
2nd bear kill fee $800
Lic/tag (1) bear $360
2nd bear tag $180
Preservation fee $125
Extras:
Airfare to Prince George
Trophy shipping
Taxidermy as necessary
Gratuities
Moose hunts are conducted from cabins or tent camps on remote lakes. The actual hunts are spot and stalk utilizing calling during the rut period. Most moose are taken on the lake shores or close by the water. Small outboard powered boats are used to cruise the lake shores looking for big bulls stopping at selected spots to call. Getting a big fired up moose coming straight in to the call is a real thrill.
Pick up spot is Anaheim Lake that can be reached easily from Vancouver. John will pick you up there and fly you direct to the moose camp. As with the bear hunt if you tag out early you can return to Moose Lake Lodge for fishing at no additional cost.
There are 4 ten day hunts starting 15 Sept-30 Oct with primetime being 20 Sept-10 Oct to take adavantage of the rut.
Pricing:
1x1 10 DAYS $7,750
Preservation fee $125
Lic/tag $420
Extras:
Same as bear hunt.
There are two openings for bear this spring with one each 20-26 May and 27 May-2 June. Additionally there are 2 spots for moose 28 Sept-7 Oct which is ideal.
Contacr me anytime with questions.

Idaho SharpshooterIN contrast to a large percentage of game farm (RSA)hunts being advertised elsewhere here, this is a genuine HUNT! for wild game.
It made my (very) short list for 2011.
