My experience in hunting Alaska is that the terrain, climate and remoteness is rought with challenges, many of the people "in the business" there, be it hunting or transportation don't make it any better. If you want to go hunt Alaska and find a reason to bitch or find excuses for failure, you will have plenty of opportunities. However, the trick is to go, relax, not stress about the road blocks and fly out of there with a trophy regardless of the obstacles you encountered. Just my $.02
Very sound advice for anyone doing a hunt up here.

Marabou SlasherI have guided in Alaska for many years - I have ran into many of Tony's hunters on the way in and out - most times in Port Alsworth. Although I would not and have not and will not bash another guide - I have heard many a hunters feedback upon their exit from his camps
Most times' ( percentag wise about 100%) the reports have not been good.
I do know some hunters are not prepared for long days in the field 0 most times under adverse conditions - ( rain - wind- you name it. But when the reports become overwhelming like I have experienced myself from his hunters one begins to wonder.
I dont have a dog or a dog biscuit in this fight - but would hope Mark researches all the information and makes the necessary changes to who he decides too represent.
Mark is a booking agent - he makes money off every single hunt sold - and leaves the responsibility to the Guide to ensure the client has a good and as advertised and sold hunt.
I feel as though Mark is responsible partially as he is the direct link between the outfotter and theclient - and received good money to be there.
Ultimately the responsibility lies with the Outfitter to perform - Dont look to the Alaska Professional Hunters Association to do anything about that either. Tony is a hard born - card carrying member
It is the responsibility of Mark to ensure the hunt went off as promised - if he cannot do that with ultimate guarantee - then he should not offer them.

<Boone & Crockett>I know while my family and I were living up in AK we checked out a lot of reviews of outfitters/guides on "Alaska Outdoor Forum". Just an FYI for hunters looking into outfits up there. I know you can do a search for this outfitter mentioned and read a few.
