So I found out sitting in the airport on my way to the USA that I drew a tag in the annual Limpopo Leopard draw.

With the hunting system that changed in the province we have a great chance to kill one of the super cats Limpopo are known for.

We can now hunt on any property we have hunting rights to in the hunting zone allocated.

Please take note that we are restricted with dates, so we can only do this before 31 July.

My best dates I picked for this hunt is any dates between 1 and 20 July with the dark moon falling on 16 July.

It is a male only system now.

The Leopard will mainly be hunted on three ranches, the one being the famous Cross River Private Nature Reserve. Total area to be hunted is approx. 30,000 acres and our lodge lies nicely situated in the middle of all of this.

Hunting these cats are done at night, and takes a lot of discipline from the hunter.

There has not been a Leopard taken in this specific area in 4 years because we did not get tags here.

Guys when I hunted with Charl on this same property in 13 we came across a Leopard kill,so fresh the blood had not even started to dry yet. Charl showed me the track and it was a monster compared to others I have seen.

I did hover feel like a big Nancy standing there with my 6.6 Swede watching our backs while,he and the tracker ( sorry Charl imforgotmth is name) strung it up,as bait.

Vow Gary I forgot that was you that was with me! I tell that story to every hunter that has been up there with me. This past year we had a young male and female feeding on a bait I set up right at the bottom of that steep hill!

We called her Cyclops because of her blind eye. Will see if I can post some pictures for you, then you can see what she looks like.

They fed for weeks on end!
