reddy375Burkina Faso - December 2017 Buffalo hunts
The outfitter in BF has informed me that he has a few buffalo left to sell. This offer is ONLY valid for December 2017. Season opens December 1st. This is a GREAT time to hunt buffalo. We have huge herds in the concession at that time. A great time for Archery and also double rifle hunters as one can approach very close in the tall grass. The weather is also very nice and not beastly hot like it gets in March!
This hunt will allow you to take 1 buffalo + 1 other large game species (select from list below). Cost of hunt 4,500 euros - 6 days, 1x1 basis. If you wish to add a second buffalo, the cost of the hunt will be 7,500 euros for 8 hunting days.
Trophy fees in euros (2016-2017)
Buffalo 480
Western Hartebeest 290
Sing Sing Waterbuck 420

Trophy fees (see below)
Cost of packing, expediting and shipping of trophies by air cargo to final destination

For those who have not hunted Western Savannah buffalo, the hunt is identical to that of a cape buffalo hunt. While smaller in size they are just as tough in my opinion and not to be played around with! They come in all color shades from red to black. The red ones seem to be a bit smaller than the black ones generally speaking.
Here are some of the buffalo we have taken:
This was the quickest buffalo hunt I have ever been witness to. Our very own Mr. Biebs arrived without shoes (hence the photo of his crocs) or guns thanks to the airlines! We went out for a drive just to look around and ran in to a herd of buff crossing the road. He jumped out and shot one with my 375 H&H Sako (not his beloved Blaser). I think he was a bit disappointed it ended so quick!!
This is an unbeatable offer for a great buffalo hunt in a wild part of Africa. We only have a few hunts to sell so book yours before they are sold.
Getting there: From the States fly to Paris or Istanbul and then to Ouagadougou where you will be met and spend the night. The next day you will transfer to camp by road (apprx 10 hours). Your hunt starts the following day. You will depart camp the day after your hunt ends in time to arrive Ouaga to catch the night flight out to Paris.
A yellow fever vaccination is required to enter BF. Visas can be obtained in 7 working days from the Embassy in DC.
We have taken more American clients to BF than everyone else combined. Thanks for considering this hunt.

actbobAdding a Roan would seem the way to go! If you're already there most of the cost is covered and that would be a deal to add such a majestic animal.
Are the Roan in the same area as the buff? Is it possible to also add a bushbuck or would that require another licence? And are any other, even lesser, critters available on this hunt if time allows?

FjoldThat's a great deal, I'd love to get a harnessed bushbuck!
Do you have any one-horned rams?

lavacaArjun:
Could they do a 2 buffalo/roan on say a 10 day? Can't do it this year, but would like to on an off year. Thanks.

Russ GouldAbout ten years ago I tried hard to get to BF on a buffalo hunt. Rather than a quickie, I wanted to spend some time hunting birds before the main event, eg a week followed by a week of big game hunting. That was not permitted or not encouraged not sure which. Has anything changed? Is the bird hunting any good?

reddy375Lavaca. Typically they like to package a single buff with some other species. But let me know when you want to do the hunt and I will discuss it with them then. All depends on quotas etc as well.
Russ, we have rough bird shooting for francolin, guinea fowl, doves, sand grouse, doves but not organised for bird shooting as such. But no problem if you wish to shoot some birds before or after your big-game hunt. Some clients like to do an evening or so of bird shooting to break things up.
Thanks,
Arjun

lavacaThanks, Arjun. Time away from the office is my biggest problem. So the prospect of a short ten day is attractive. But I love buffalo and two would be great. And, I've been jinxed on roan, so that would be an ideal combo with either one or two buffalo. Don't know what's up for next year, but will definitely keep this in mind.

BrianAWhat are the prices for 2018?

PondoroVery interesting, lets hear the prices for 2018..
I would be interested in a buff/roan or 2 x buff/roan deal as Lavaca suggested..

vvreddyWho is that handsome fellow?
They can take quite a few heavy caliber shots so if one chooses to charge it could be a problem.
Trophy fees for 2018 have gone up slightly. I don't have them at hand but not enough that I think it would affect anyone's decision.
