Seems like a good price with a very reputable outfit for someone wanting to get a taste of elephant hunting without a large price tag...

Or just someone wanting to get MORE ele hunting!

Great outfitter. I hunted with Lin this May in Hwange for a non-trophy elephant. I'm happy to talk to any prospective hunters about my experience with Lin.

Pardon my ignorance, what is considered a non-trophy bull?

I'm sure Mark will put up the official answer for this particular hunt:

But in my experience it's a mature bull with broken tusks, or simply tusks below a certain weight, (genetically never going to be really big) PH's call.

Joe,

Non-trophy ele is something with short broken tusks or under 30#

Is the elephant exportable to the USA? Any chance of adding a Buffalo or hippo to the hunt?

Mark,

Just a curious question that I have, Is short broken tusks defined or is this a judgement call by everyone involved? Does it have to be both sides broken or can one side be near missing and the other full length? I can totally understand the under 30# limit but I can't really wrap my head around the other and how that is determined.

Mike,

Both tusks don't need to be broken but neither tusk can exceed 30# to be considered non-trophy. The final determination of non-trophy or trophy bull will always be at the PH's discretion.
